
The Santa Teresa Lifeguards are dedicated to providing safety, information, aquatic prevention and emergency assistance on Santa Teresa's beaches.
HISTORY
The Santa Teresa Lifeguards was created in 2015, and today is staffed by international volunteers and local lifeguards, committed, trained and dedicated to keep safety the beaches of Santa Teresa and its neighboring beaches in the Peninsula de Nicoya, Costa Rica.
Six monitoring and rescue towers have been built, located on the southern end of Santa Teresa, and covering until to the north with towers in Playa Carmen, Banana Beach, Zeneidas, Rocamar, Casa Capitan and Playa Hermosa, with a constant activity on weekends and in holidays seasons.
Aided by local surfers, who in the past have been the main source of water rescues and near drownings, Santa Teresa Lifeguards is dedicated to providing ongoing ocean safety and prevention in Santa Teresa Beach.

INTERNATIONAL
VOLUNTEERS
We are looking for certified and active lifeguards around the world, to join us like a volunteers in exchange for accommodation in our headquarters, permanent training in our gym, and all the benefits for working with the Santa Teresa Lifeguards.
24/7 SURFER RESCUE
24/7 is an autralian training programme for local surfers in water safety, rescue techniques an CPR, in a free intensive half-day course. Australia realizes that surfers are in the water 24/7 and help rescue many people. We need more qualified people constantly on the beaches!

GYM
Our headquarters has a gym open to the public, with machines and free weights for all types of training. With the quota/donation of the students we are contributing more hours of guard in our towers, better equipment and permanent guards.

El entrenamiento cuenta con todos las maquinas y equipos, y un entrenamiento personalizado y funcional
Con cada mes de inscripción al gimnasio, se logran más horas de guardia de los guardavidas de Santa Teresa.
